Why we founded Plural

Non-obvious, hard companies matter

The harder the challenge, the more you have to find ways to tilt the odds in your favour. We’re drawn to founders solving seriously hard problems where our company-building experience could make all the difference.

Values and standards matter

Technology is influenced by the values and standards of the society in which it’s developed. Over the past decades, the most significant and globally influential technology companies have mostly come from the US and China. We believe Europe, with its focus on humanist values, has a much greater role to play now than ever before in shaping technology globally, putting ordinary citizens’ interests over those of massive corporations or political parties.

Europe matters

We’re interested in missions that are critical for Europe with real potential to have GDP-level impact and drive growth, resilience and sovereignty for the continent. This was something we committed to when founding Plural and has reflected in our investments from the beginning.
